Virginia Homeschool Proof of Progress Evaluation Letter

Are you a homeschooling family in Virginia in need of a simple, stress-free proof of progress evaluation? I offer a straightforward assessment service to help meet the state’s homeschooling requirements. With over a decade of work in education and experience homeschooling my own children, I understand the unique needs of homeschooling families. I hold a Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Management from the American Military University (*more on my qualifications below).

My evaluation process includes reviewing your child’s progress in key academic disciplines to ensure they meet Virginia’s proof of progress requirements. This is a simple review—not an extensive assessment—designed to provide the documentation you need. The cost is only $30 per child. If you’re looking for an easy, supportive evaluation experience, I’d love to help! Contact me today to get started.

*In Virginia, homeschool proof of progress evaluations can be conducted by a qualified individual, including someone with a master’s degree. This is outlined in § 22.1-254.1(C) of the Code of Virginia, which states that a parent can provide evidence of progress through an evaluation by a person with a master’s degree or higher in an academic discipline. Specifically, the law allows:

“An evaluation letter from a person licensed to teach in any state or a person with a master’s degree or higher in an academic discipline, stating that the child is achieving an adequate level of educational growth and progress.”

This provision ensures that a qualified individual—such as someone with a master’s degree—can review a child’s academic progress and provide the necessary documentation to meet the state’s homeschooling requirements. So why choose me? I hold a Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Management from the American Military University. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Virginia Tech and an undergraduate certificate in Web 2.0. I have traveled abroad extensively, and currently reside on our small family farm in the New River Valley. My education and experience have given me a broad range of knowledge and perspectives that I draw from in my own children’s homeschooling environment. There are many other evaluators out there that offer more extensive evaluations and other services. If you are looking for something in-depth and well beyond what Virginia requires, I recommend seeking out those evaluators.
