American Guinea Hogs at Rocky Sink Farm
We are proud to be bringing American Guinea Hogs to Rocky Sink Farm — a heritage breed well-suited to small farms, homesteads, and pasture-based systems. We expect our first piglets in the spring 2026 and are now offering a wait list for those interested.
About the Breed
American Guinea Hogs are a traditional American heritage hog, once common on family farms throughout Appalachia and the Southeast. They were prized for their hardiness, excellent meat quality, and ability to thrive on pasture and forage rather than relying heavily on grain.
Unlike modern commercial feeder hogs, Guinea Hogs are:
- Smaller-framed and easier to handle
- Calm, docile, and well-suited for families
- Excellent foragers and grazers
- Hardy and adaptable to varied conditions
- Ideal for homesteads and small-scale farms
They grow at a slower, more natural pace and produce richly flavored pork with good fat quality — a return to how hogs were traditionally raised.
Why We Chose Guinea Hogs
This land once supported extensive hog areas, and bringing pigs back felt like a natural step in restoring the farm. American Guinea Hogs allow us to work in rhythm with the land, using a breed that respects space, pasture, and traditional methods. Their size, temperament, and efficiency make them a perfect fit for our family farm and for others looking to raise hogs on a smaller scale.

Join the Wait List
If you’re interested in being notified when piglets are available this spring, we invite you to join our wait list. Signing up does not obligate you to purchase — it simply ensures you’ll be among the first to hear when we have piglets ready.
We believe American Guinea Hogs have an important place on today’s homesteads, just as they did generations ago. We’re grateful to play a small part in keeping this breed and this way of farming alive.
